Phone pictures

Highlights from the last few weeks:
Brandon was in DC for a conference and got to have dinner with brother Nick (looking spiffy!):
While he was away, Soren missed him AND got another ear infection. During our wait in the drive-thru prescription line, he kept himself happy by looking at pictures of his pops from a new family calendar made by aunt Lindsey.
***
This was from weeks ago. Soren found the mascara and first tried it where you see it, then in his mouth. His teeth were black and crusty for days (ok not days). Arrr, pirate!
***
The hair is getting out of control.
(Notice what he does in his free time. This was to see which countries in the world drive on the left side of the street and which drive on the right side. He will remember this information forever.)

I have been rekindling my sewing flame. Mostly because B was out of town, but also because my January house always looks sparse after putting Christmas stuff away, and I've been wanting to get better at this invisible zipper tutorial for years now.
Also we found Fancy Nancy fabric on clearance at Hobby Lobby and seriously, how could we not bring it home and make something fancy out of it? Voila! Pillowcase (edged in Heather Bailey happiness)! Annie helped in every step; she also learned to tie shoes and double knots this month, and cracked an egg yesterday. She'll be ready to move out before February.
Oo, and I finally found an opportunity to do something with this fun fabric--brother Eric and wife Hayley had a baby this month, named Jackson. Congrats, you wonderful people. Look for this in the mail soon.

Z had swim team pictures. I love how this shows 2 of his 3 coaches on the left (girl, top row farthest left, boy, two people to her right) and the 3rd coach on the way right (not the blurry green jacket lady, but rather, the tallest person you've ever seen just behind her). Z's in there too somewhere, but that's not really what this picture is about for me. :) If you'd like a close-up of Zane, wander back up to the out-of-control hair, please.

I got new running/workout shoes! Not sure if you can see them down there in the shadows... :) Actually all I see is the rice apparently left over from lunch that day. Maybe lint? All of the above? Goodness.

Trains and tap dancing:

Also at Hobby Lobby I got a couple frames, one to house this embroidery masterpiece by Grandma Bee. If you look close, you can see the bees--I think she added them all on her own. :)
***
Were making our way through the fun cookbooks we received for Christmas. In Annie's cookbook there are sections entitled, "Desserts," "Sweets and Treats," and "Baking." Heaven help us and our apple crumble sundaes..

I have been wanting to capture this for months. He really believes he can get that ball in the hoop, bless his heart.
Happy New Year!

These pictures make me all kinds of happy :) -- except the ear infection part. I especially am in love with Zane's amazing hair in those computer pictures. You need a tutorial on how to get that look!

So many great moments!
Annie growing up, Zane's frankenstein swim coach, Soren's crusty black teeth, your (crusty sweater) new shoes.....all awesome.
One last comment....someday Soren, someday.
