What, were you expecting something else?
Zane's been extra interested in money (saving and buying and selling and everything else) and somewhere along the line, he heard about this game called MONOPOLY.
Did you know MONOPOLY costs like 20 dollars at Target? Maybe that was the Star Wars version. Can't remember. Anyway, I didn't want to pay money for a game that's been in every game closet I've ever looked into. Someone HAD to be cool with letting us borrow it.
Lucky for us, the folks who did had the special edition "AMERICA Monopoly." Changes aren't significant enough to mention here; just know that so far we've played three rounds (all about 5 hours long, broken into morning and nighttime sessions with me and B switching off against Z) and all three times, Zane has dominated. Which makes him feel like a million bucks and bounce around like a giddy little imp. His favorite line? "Mom, you own such-and-such that I just landed on, but it's mortgaged. Hee hee hee!" Bounce bounce bounce. And, "Wow, I'm REALLY rich now!" bounce bounce bounce.
It's been awhile since we've gotten such a genuine smile out of him.
Many thanks to Gigi, who has been providing meals for the family and entertainment for the little sister while the rest of us spend all our waking hours playing the dang game. Kinda sounds like what she was supposedly here for, don't you think?
39 weeks now. Anyone seen "Happy Gilmore?" The new line is "MEESTA MEESTA! GET. HIM. OUT. OF. ME!"
